Rafael Benitez has refused to concede the Premier League title to Manchester United and called on Arsenal to prove they are better than their recent results.

The Liverpool boss is defiantly clinging onto the faint hope that leaders United will not take one point from their last two games to retain their crown.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men are preparing for a championship-winning party at Old Trafford on Saturday against the Gunners, with a trip to Hull City on the last day if they need to wrap up the league title against the relegation-haunted Humbersiders.

And Benitez was certainly not prepared to heap praise on United just yet as they close in on equalling Liverpool's 18 league titles.

Benitez's team must sit and wait for the outcome of the Old Trafford match before facing West Brom at The Hawthorns on Sunday, by which point they could be concerning themselves with getting the four points from two games that will secure runners-up spot.

But Benitez said: ''We have confidence that Arsenal will play a good game. They have lost their last two and this time you will see a totally different team intent on proving something about themselves.

''If they do that, hopefully it will give us our chance the following day.

''What ever happens, I am really pleased that we are in this position at the end of the season. But I am certainly not giving up on the title, we must always be positive.

''Arsenal will put up a fight, they are a good team with players of quality. And because of the results they have had in the last few games, they have to prove something.

''Arsene Wenger is winner, and his players are too. You cannot lose in the way they have done in their last few games and not want to try to do their best.

Benitez also called for the league's last two weekend schedules of the season to be played at the same time, rather than just the last day is it is now.

Benitez said: ''This is a strange situation, having games so close to the end of the season on different days. It is something that should be improved in the future.

''For the last two weeks of the season, teams fighting for the title or to avoid relegation should have their matches all at the same time.

''The last two games should be the same for everyone, in Spain it is like this.''

Benitez went on to suggest that United's position on top of the pile is mainly because of the money they spend.

He said: ''When you talk about Manchester United you are talking about a top side spending big, big money on every single player. Every season.

''For me that is the main difference between the teams. You have seen that with regard to Chelsea before, spending big money.

''The advantage United have is that they have a big squad, in the last years they have spent money to improve that squad even more.

''They have spent big on top-class players, so they can make mistakes and they can change players. When we won there, they had Ryan Giggs , Paul Scholes and Dimitar Berbatov on the bench.

''We cannot do something like that. We spend too much time worrying about whether Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres can play while they can play Ronaldo, Carlos Teves, Berbatov or Wayne Rooney, it doesn't matter to them.''

He continued: ''We have done well. Clearly we are more consistent. Once we were a team for the cups and the Champions League and now we can talk about being a team for the Premier League. That is positive for the future.

''We will now continue to do our job this season, and next season it will be different.''

Alex Ferguson will happily win it anywhere but the prospect of sealing his 11th Premier League title as Manchester United manager at Old Trafford on Saturday is an added bonus.

His side need just a draw against Arsenal to clinch a record-equalling 18th championship but Ferguson was not expecting an easy ride.

"Arsenal will want to do well because they've had a bit of criticism recently," Ferguson told reporters. "They will want to register their abilities on a day when everyone expects United to win the title. They are a threat."

Should United, who are on a seven-match winning streak in the league, avoid defeat it will mean the title was decided at Old Trafford for only the second time in Ferguson's glittering reign.

Only in 1999, when they beat Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, have Ferguson's United been confirmed as champions on their home turf.

"It's strange that we've won it four times on the last day of the season elsewhere," he said. "We've only done it once, in the 10 times we've won the trophy, at Old Trafford and we have got great fans and it'd be great for them.

"I've never cared where we win it but on a day like tomorrow, when you have the opportunity, it'd be nice."

Arsenal head to Old Trafford on the back of a 4-1 aggregate drubbing against United in the Champions League and a 4-1 reverse at home to Chelsea last week, leading to questions about manager Arsene Wenger.

"We live in a world of instant opinions. I have nothing against that, but it doesn't mean that instant opinions are right," Wenger, whose side will finish a distant fourth, told reporters.

"I live in a job of responsibility and of commitment. There is a difference between the two. I am here to produce what I can. If it's not good enough, it's not good enough.

"That is not down to me to judge that. I feel very proud of the commitment of the players."

Wenger, whose rivalry with Ferguson has often been a bitter one, is respectful of United's achievement but believes Arsenal can re-emerge next season.

"United bounced back very well (after Chelsea took the championship in 2005 and 2006) and that is all credit to them," he said. "For me, today, they look the best team in England and they are -- that is credit to Ferguson, as well. But it also shows that nothing is definite. It can all turn very quickly."

Redbutterfly Conquered Brunei Futsal..

The final game undoubtedly was among the best final ever. It was a battle between 2 of the best Futsal teams in Brunei. REDBUTTERFLY FC for the 2nd time crowned the CHAMPION of xBiz Futsal "Beat The Unbeatable" Futsal Challenge 2008 Tournament after beating the defending champion KNIGHTS in the final which was held at JKR Sports Complex on Sunday.

While KOTA JUNIOR who have been impressive in other tournaments in recent months were in 3rd place after trashing XII Futsal Brothers Club 5-2.

Best Player of the tournament was given to Rosmini Hj Kahar after scoring 4 goals to helped Redbutterfly outclass Knights in the final game. Best player could be won by Pg Shahril Pg Hj Ismail of Redbutterfly or Sumardi of Knights who have been impressive throughout the tournament if not only Rosmini became the hero for Redbutterfly after scoring 4 goals in the final which left the judges to chose him to won the award.

BERAKAS, Ahad - X1, Fuyoo United, Ahad Family 'A', AFFT, Kickerz dan Ahad Family 'B' melengkapkan kuota 22 pasukan yang layak menyertai pusingan kedua Kejohanan Futsal XBIZ Ketiga. Dalam perlawanan di sebelah pagi Ahad lepas di Dewan Hangar Kompleks Sukan Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) di Berakas, X1 mengungguli Kumpulan I dengan pungutan 13 mata, manakala TAZ 'Squadz' hanya perlu seri di akhir perlawanan untuk melayaki kepusingan kedua namun gagal ditangan Fuyoo United yang berjaya membolosi benteng pertahanan TAZ 'squadz' disaat-saat akhir.

Manakala di sebelah petang, Ahad Family 'A' memenangi kesemua perlawanan mereka bagi menggenggam tangga teratas Kumpulan J dengan 15 mata, sementara tempat kedua kumpulan menjadi milik AFFT walaupun hanya mendapat lapan mata. Dua pasukan terakhir yang layak dari Kumpulan K ialah Kickerz dengan 13 mata dan naib juara kumpulan, Ahad Family 'B', 11 mata. Pasukan berkenaan dibahagikan kepada 11 kumpulan iaitu 1 pasukan bagi setiap satu kumpulan yang dinamakan dari A hingga K melalui cabutan undi yang diadakan malam ini di Dewan Kuliah Sekolah Perdagangan.
  Kumpulan A mengandungi Wira 8 FT, Sungai Liang FC, Kota Junior, Bear Hill FC 'B', ABDB FT 'B' dan Frenstar Reunited, manakala Kumpulan B dibarisi Furious FT, Projek Ikan Pusu 'A', Eagle FC, Pegastar 'A', Dos Concious dan Shah Utd 'A'.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Ahad - Jaringan jersi 11 Red Butterfly, Rosmini di minit ke-11 perlawanan sudah cukup untuk memahkotai gelaran juara Kejohanan Futsal Pega Star FT & Pengurusan 2008 buat pasukannya dalam perlawanan akhir dengan kemenangan 1-0 ke atas Kota Junior.

Tempat ketiga dimenangi pasukan penganjur, Pega Star FT yang berjaya memecahbelahkan Bukit Bendera di separuh masa kedua melalui jaringan Warto di minit ke-4, Ranozakhran di minit ke-5 dan kemudiannya Hadiman dua minit kemudian untuk memenangi perlawanan itu dengan jaringan 3-0.

Kota Junior sepatutnya mendahului di babak pertama perlawanan apabila serangan pantas mereka berjaya mengucar-ngacirkan pertahanan lawan, namun pemainnya gagal menyudahkan percubaannya ke gawang gol lawan yang terbuka luas tanpa penjaga gol dan nyatanya kegagalan itu membawa padah sehingga wisel penamat ditiupkan.

Babak pertama yang berkesudahan 0-0 itu lebih berpihak kepada Kota Junior yang lebih banyak menyerang melalui serangan balas, namun dengan kemasukan Irwan Mohammad di babak kedua, perlawanan kini lebih dikawal oleh Red Butterfly sehingga menyentak pihak lawan seawal minit pertama babak kedua itu melalui jaringan pantas Rosmini yang kekal sehingga perlawanan ditamatkan pengadil.

Rosmini sebelum itu turut menjadi wira pasukannya di perlawanan peringkat separuh akhir apabila menyumbat satu-satunya gol perlawanan menentang Pega Star FT juga di minit pertama babak pertama perlawanan.

Kota Junior pula sedari mula pusingan kalah mati itu berjaya melangkah ke peringkat seterusnya sehinggalah ke peringkat akhir berbekalkan kejayaan mereka menumpaskan lawan melalui penentuan sepakan penalti iaitu dengan jaringan 3-2 ke atas xBiz dan Warrior FC masing-masing di pusingan kedua dan suku akhir setelah seri 2-2 dan 0-0 di masa sebenar perlawanan.

Di peringkat separuh akhir, Kota Junior menundukkan Bukit Bendera dengan jaringan 2-0 melalui sepakan penalti selepas perlawanan masa sebenar tamat seri 2-2 hasil jaringan jersi 8 mereka, Fouzul Jefrey di minit ke-4 dan ke-6 babak kedua perlawanan.

Selain piala dan pingat perseorangan, juara turut mendapat hadiah wang tunai sebanyak $800, naib juara pula $500 dan tempat ketiga memperoleh hadiah wang tunai sejumlah $300, manakala tempat keempat membawa pula hadiah wang tunai $130 saja.

Menyempurnakan penyampaian hadiah selesai perlawanan akhir yang dilangsungkan di Dewan Serbaguna Kompleks Sukan Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) itu ialah pengerusi Pega Star FT, Abbas Tanjong.

The Playing Court
1. Dimensions: 25-42 m long x 15-25 m wide
2. Marking: 8 cm wide touchlines at the sides, goal lines at the ends, and a halfway-line across; 3 m center circle; no walls or dasherboards
3. Penalty Area: Arc measuring 6 m from each post
4. Penalty Mark: 6 m from the mid-point of goal line
5. Second Penalty Mark: 12 m from the mid-point of the goal line
6. Substitution Zones: 6 m zone (3 m on each side of halfway-line) on the bench side of the pitch
7. The Goals: 2 m high x 3 m wide
8. Surface of the Pitch: Smooth, flat and non-abrasive (e.g. wood, synthetic materials; avoid concrete and tarmac; artificial turf not acceptance for international matches)

The Ball
1. Size: #4
2. Circumference: 62-64 cm
3. Weight: 390-430 grams
4. Bounce: 55-65 cm on first bounce
5. Material: Leather or other suitable material (i.e., not dangerous)

Number of Players
1. Minimum Number of Players to Start Match: 5, one of whom shall be a goalkeeper
2. Minimum Number of Players to Finish Match: 2
3. Maximum Number of Substitutes: 7
4. Substitution Limit: None
5. Substitution Method: "Flying substitution" (all players but the goalkeeper enter and leave as they please; goalkeeper substitutions can only be made when the ball is out of play and with a referee's consent)

Players' Equipment Usual Equipment:
Numbered shirts, shorts, socks, protective shinguards and footwear with rubber soles

Main Referee
1. Duties: Enforce the laws, apply the advantage rule, keep a record of all incidents before, during and after game, stop game when deemed necessary, caution or expel players guilty of misconduct, violent conduct or other ungentlemanly behavior, allow no others to enter the pitch, stop game to have injured players removed, signal for game to be restarted after every stoppage, decide that the ball meets with the stipulated requirements.
2. Position: The side opposite to the player benches
3. Power Unique to Main Referee: Can overrule Assistant Referee's calls.

Assistant Referee
1. Duties: Same as Main Referee, with the addition of keeping a check on the 2-minute punishment period after a player has been sent off, ensuring that substitutions are carried out properly, and keeping a check on the 1-minute time-out.
2. Position: The same side as the player benches

Timekeeper
1. Duties: Start game clock after kick-off, stop it when the ball is out of play, and restart it after all restarts; keep a check on 2-minute punishment for sending off; indicate end of first half and match with some sort of sound; record time-outs and fouls (and indicate when a team has exceeded the 5-foul limit); record game stoppages, scorers, players cautioned and sent off, and other information relevant to the game.
2. Position: Outside halfway line on the same side as the substitution zone (i.e., the players' bench side)

Duration of the Game
1. Duration: Two equal periods of 20 minutes; clock stopped whenever ball is out of play. Time can be prolonged only to take a penalty kick.
2. Time-outs: 1 per team per half; none in extra time
3. Half-time: Maximum of 10 minutes

The Start of Play Procedure:
Coin toss followed by kickoff; opposing team waits outside center circle; ball deemed in play once it has traveled the distance of its own circumference; kicker shall not touch ball before someone else touches it; ensuing kick-offs taken after goals scored and at start of second half.

Ball in and out of Play
1. Ball out of play: When it has wholly crossed the goal line or touchline; when the game has been stopped by a referee; when the ball hits the ceiling (restart: dropped ball beneath that point).
2. Lines: Touchlines and goal lines are considered inside the playing area.

Method of Scoring
When the whole of the ball has passed over the goal line, between the goal posts and under the crossbar (except by illegal means).

Fouls and Misconduct Direct free kick awarded when a player intentionally commits any of the following 11 offenses (penalty kick awarded when infringement takes place in penalty area):
1. kicking or attempting to kick an opponent
2. tripping an opponent
3. jumping at an opponent
4. charging an opponent in a violent or dangerous manner
5. charging an opponent from behind
6. holding an opponent
7. pushing an opponent
8. charging an opponent with shoulder (i.e., shoulder charge)
9. sliding at an opponent (i.e., sliding tackle)
10. handling the ball (except goalkeeper)

Indirect free kick awarded when any of the following 8 offenses is committed (kick taken from the 6-meter line when infringement takes place in penalty area):
1. dangerous play (e.g. attempting to kick ball held by goalkeeper)
2. obstruction
3. charging the goalkeeper in the penalty area (i.e., goalkeeper charge)
4. goalkeeper throws ball directly over the halfway-line (without it first touching his own side of the pitch or any player)
5. goalkeeper picks up or touches with his hands a backpass
6. goalkeeper picks up or touches with his hands a kick-in from a teammate
7. goalkeeper controls the ball with any part of his body for more than 4 seconds
8. goalkeeper touches with any part of his body a backpass that has been played back to him before the ball has (1) crossed the halfway-line or (2) been touched by an opponent

Players shall be cautioned (i.e., shown yellow card) when:
1. a substituting player enters the pitch from an incorrect position or before the player he is substituting has entirely left the pitch
2. he persistently infringes the Laws of the Game
3. he shows dissent with any decision of the referee
4. he is guilty of ungentlemanly conduct These 4 yellow-card offenses are punishable by an indirect free kick taken from the point of infringement (or from the 6-meter line when the infringement takes place in penalty area).

Players shall be sent off (i.e., shown the red card) for:
1. serious foul play
2. violent conduct
3. foul or abusive language
4. second instance of cautionable offense (i.e., second yellow card)
5. intentionally impeding a clear goal opportunity (e.g. through a "professional foul")
6. intentionally impeding a clear goal opportunity in the penalty area by handling the ball Direct free kicks (or penalty kicks) accompany the expulsion for (a), (b), (e) and (f); indirect free kicks, for (c) and (d) (from the 6-meter line when the infringement takes place in the penalty area).

Rules of Expulsion:
1. The player sent off is out for the rest of the game and is not even permitted to sit on the reserves' bench.
2. The team of the player sent off can substitute for that player after 2 minutes of playing time or after the opposing team scores -- which ever comes first.
3. The 2-minute punishment shall be checked by the timekeeper (or by the assistant referee, if there is no timekeeper).
4. The substitute cannot come on until the ball is out of play and he has a referee's consent.

Free Kick
1. Types: Direct free kicks and indirect free kicks
2. Wall: At least 5 meters away until the ball is in play
3. Ball in Play: After it has traveled the distance of its own circumference
4. Time Limit: Kick must be taken within 4 seconds
5. Restriction: Kicker cannot touch the ball again until it has been touched by another player

Accumulated Fouls
Accumulated fouls refer only to all the fouls mentioned in Law XII(a through k(1 to 11).

Once a team has accumulated 5 fouls during a half (those accumulated in the second half continue to accumulate into extra time), from the 6th foul:

1. that team shall not be allowed a defensive wall
2. all free kicks shall be direct (no indirect free kicks)
3. infringements committed within 12 meters of the goal line shall be punished with a direct free kick from the point of infringement; infringements committed from 12 meters or further from the goal line shall be punished with a direct free kick from the Second Penalty Spot Procedure.
4. Until the ball is kicked into play, all players other than the goalkeeper and kicker shall remain behind an imaginary line that is in line with the ball and parallel to the goal line.
5. The goalkeeper shall remain in his penalty area at least 5 m away from the ball.
6. The kicker must aim at the goal, with the intention of scoring.
7. No other player may touch the ball until it has been touched by the pitch, rebounded from the goal post or crossbar, or has left the pitch.
8. If the infringement took place in penalty area (and does not merit a penalty kick), the free kick is to be taken from the 6-m-line on the spot nearest to where the infringement occurred.

Penalty Kick
1. To be taken from the penalty mark on the mid-point of the 6-m-line.
2. The kicker is to aim at goal, with the intention of scoring.
3. All players must be out of the penalty area, and the players of the opposing team must also be at least 5 m from the penalty spot.
4. The kicker shall not play the ball a second time until it has been touched by another player.

Kick-in
1. To be taken in place of the throw-in.
2. The ball is placed on the touch line before kicking.
3. The kicker's foot not kicking the ball must be outside or at least on the touchline; if it crosses the touchline all of the way, into the pitch, the kick-in is given to the opposing team.
4. The kick-in must be taken within 4 seconds; if it is not, the kick-in is given to the opposing team.
5. The kicker cannot play the ball a second time until it has been played by another player; infringement of this rule entail an indirect free kick to the opposing from the point of infringement.
6. Players on opposing team must be at least 5 m away from point of kick-in.
7. Cannot score directly from a kick-in.

Goal Clearance
1. To be taken in place of goal kick.
2. From inside the penalty area, the goalkeeper throws the ball into play.
3. The ball is not in play until it has passed outside of the penalty area. If the goal clearance is received inside of the penalty area, the goal clearance shall be taken over.

Corner Kick
1. Ball placed on the corner (no corner-kick arc). If ball is misplaced, the corner kick is taken over.
2. Must be taken within 4 seconds; failure to do so entails indirect free kick to the opposing team from the corner mark.
3. The kicker cannot play the ball a second time until it has been played by another player; infringement of this rule entail an indirect free kick to the opposing from the point of infringement.
4. Players on opposing team must be at least 5 m away from point of the corner kick.
5. Can score goal directly from a corner kick.

Penalty Kick Shoot-out
1. Main referee decides goal to be used.
2. Coin tossed to decide order.
3. Five kicks to be taken by 5 different players selected from the 12 suited players. Captain of each team announces these 5 to the main referee before the kicks are taken.
4. If two teams are still tied after 5 kicks, the additional kicks will be taken on a sudden-death basis by the rest of the players who have not kicked yet.
5. Players sent off during the match are not eligible to take these kicks.
6. Any eligible player may change places with his goalkeeper.
7. While the penalty shoot-out is in progress, players will remain on the opposite half of the pitch. The assistant referee shall control this area.

History of Futsal AFC's Futsal Development Plan

What is futsal?

Futsal is the international form of indoor soccer and is played under the banner of FIFA throughout the world by more than 25 millions players. The terms FUTSAL is the international term used for the game. It is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese word for .soccer., FUTbo, FUTebol and the French or Spanish word for indoor, Salon or SALa. Futsal is a 5-a-side version of soccer that is played indoors on a variety of surfaces.

The origin of futsal can be traced back to Montevideo, Uruguay in 1930 when Juan Carlos Ceriani devised a five a side version of soccer for youth competition in YMCA.s. Because the sports is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin point passing, its an exciting game for children as well as adults. Great soccer superstar such as Pele, Zico and Ronaldo grew up playing the game and credit Futsal for developing their skills. Futsal is played with a special, low bounce ball, necessitating players to use their skills, rather than the ball.s bounce to propel it.
